About object
Description
In one of the silent streets of Riga district Mārupe – Dauguļu Street – a modern villa stands. Its architectonics reference palladium-style Italian villas, but the classic values are combined with updated technologies. The building is located on a narrow area, which in its Southern part borders with monastery garden of Dominican nuns with leafy oaks, fruit-trees and rose-beds – a spacious and beautiful landscape, towards which all views of spatial designing are directed.
Landscape is an essential element, because the villa is designed so that outer and inner rooms are maximally merged – with large, opening windows viewing to the inner yard. While the front garden with footpaths covered with natural hewn slates and green plants is created with association of Japan, the inner yard is made attractive by specially formed micro-relief of lawn that plays its chiaroscuro landscape game when illuminated. At the furthest end of the area, in a birch grove, a bower with bamboo supports has found shelter. For a united image of the villa a horizontal fluency has been chosen, it is maintained by horizontal frieze within two floors, a flat roof with wide overhangs and the glass zone under it, as well as horizontal rungs of the ground floor window of entrance facade and shutters visually enlarging the window.
